Turmeric Cures:Beauty Tips

Turmeric or ‘haldi’ is an essential ingredient of Pakistan Cuisine. It has been used here for centuries to heal wounds and treat infections. Known as “holy powder” in the West, it can develop healthier human cell membranes. In fact, it helps improve cells’ resistance to infections and imparts strength to the human body to fight imbalances.

Turmeric as a beauty cure –

Face-wash for all skins: Mix honey and yogurt, adding a little turmeric. Apply on the face and wash it off after 15 to 20 minutes.

Scrub for dry skin: Take milk or cream, add dried bread crumbs and a pinch of turmeric. Apply it on the face. After 10 minutes, moisten with milk and rub gently on the skin, washing it off with water.

For oily skin: Once daily, apply curd mixed with a little turmeric on the entire face, and wash it off with plenty of water after twenty minutes.

For acne:Make a paste of turmeric powder in mint juice, keep it for 30 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.

For stretch marks: Extracts of turmeric have proved useful in lightening stretch marks. Turmeric, saffron and lemon juice are used to remove blemishes and rectify imbalances.

For dark armpits:Mix besan (gram flour), curd, lemon juice and a little turmeric and apply at least three times a week under the arms. Wash it off after half an hour. It will definitely work wonders.

For fair complexion:Never forget the traditional fairness secret of applying turmeric powder with sandalwood paste daily for best results. The paste can be applied on the facial area and washed off with cold water once it dries on its own.

For freckles:Apply lemon juice and turmeric mixture to lighten freckles.

For hair removal:Mix turmeric and wheat flour in equal quantities and make a paste with sesame oil. Use this mixture for hair removal purpose.
